Ok, here we go. The new administration is getting into place, and we start the ground running. Did you see Hillary Clinton's entrance to the State Department? It was a rock star entrance, with everyone trying to snap pictures, on their feet giving her a standing ovation...looks like they are ecstatic about how the next 4 years of their life will be.
Here is a department that has to be on ultra low morale. For the last 4 years hardly anyone in the world has had nice things to say about the United States and relations have been strained making the State Department's job difficult. Most of the duties associated with the State Department has been shuffled over to the Pentagon during the Bush Administration anyway. [Invalid video specified]
It seems she said all the right things, so our foreign relations looks like it gets a good boost. The President dropping by the State Department on day 2 of his administration has to give them a great sense that their job is important to the President and the United States as a whole. I'm looking forward to their participation in the foreign affiars process.
I think it's really exciting to see people ready to work and enthused about what they do. It makes for a productive workplace.
